Who is responsible for paying for the services?

What is special item restoration (e.g., china, heirlooms, etc.)?
Special items are cleaned and restored with specialized techniques. We’ll inform you if any item requires off-site or third-party restoration, and will handle the logistics.
Who are general contractors?
General contractors are licensed professionals who perform structural repairs such as framing, drywall, plumbing, electrical, and more. If your restoration project requires these services, your ServiceMaster Restore team will coordinate with trusted general contractors or work with the contractor of your choice.
Do I need to move out of my home during this process?
Not necessarily. Whether or not you need to vacate your home depends on the extent of the damage and the type of restoration work being performed. We’ll let you know in advance if it’s recommended based on health or safety concerns.
How do I keep track of non-restorable items?
We’ll document all items deemed non-restorable and provide a copy for you and your insurance company. You should also take your own photos or videos. Make a list that includes the item, original cost, and approximate year purchased.
